Birthday Party

Birthdays come only once in a year and last year I celebrated my birthday the way I wanted to. My parents were gracious - enough to ask me for anything on that day and I asked them to arrange a grand party for my friends.
My mother is my best friend when it comes to inviting friends home. She helped me to make invitation cards and to fill them up with names. She made a list of all the friends I wanted to call and then made a card to send to each of my friends. The contents of each card were different so as to suit the taste of the particular friend to whom it was sent.
Thereafter she took me to the market and bought balloons and streamers, masks and caps, etc to decorate the house with. We ordered the cake and bought wrapping paper along with the return presents. As we reached home we sat down to work. We put up the streamers with tape and hung the balloons all over the walls and on the fans and doors and windows. We arranged the marks and caps in such a way that each friend of mine would pick one of his choices.
Mother was very busy. She spent the whole day in the kitchen cooking for all my friends. The cake arrived in the evening and soon my friends started pouring in. My father arranged some games for them and he became the referee for all our games. He arranged musical chairs, passing the parcel, follow the leader, dumb charades and many others and all my friends enjoyed themselves.
We had our tea after the cake was cut by me. The cake was in the shape of a beautiful house with colourful fencing and big chunks of chocolate. I was drowned in gifts once my friends left and I went to bed with the satisfaction of having enjoyed the best birthday party of my life.

Friends

This proverb ' A friend in need is a friend indeed ' clearly indicates that a person cannot live alone.Of course, there is always an argument of solitaire people who have different opinion.Man is gregarious by nature and constantly seeking for friends.People with wide circle of friends definitely are merrier, fortunate and they never have to feel lonely.Different types of friend may include friends as acquaintance; friends through the internet, pen-pals, and of course your childhood friends. As an argument, having many friends do not necessary bring joy. There are of course many types of friends. We have friends that stick by, through thick and thin. Those, who are there to share your ups and downs.Lend their ears to you in times of sharing opinion, heart to heart talk and those encouraging ones.True friends who do not desert you in times of trouble and sacrifice for each other.Friends that hold their promises trust and are reliable.Friends that hope the best for you are genuine. On the other hand, friends that affect you negatively can bring you headache. Those that back stab, betray, selfish, rejoice in your failure, benefit at your expense.Hypocrites that can destroy your life can be a real hassle and mental torture.Never underestimate the capability of malicious acts that can be disastrous to a person 's life. There are friends that take advantage of your presence as a stepping-stone for their success.Never see eye-to-eye over any discussion and always adamant that they are righteous. To survive in this social circle of friends, we need to acquire skills to be compatible. It is a game for me the survival of the fittest to sustain in this competitive world.Although, those who gain through evil ways are bound to backfire and the truth will prevail.Let us live with pride in our moral and virtue. Therefore, in the nutshell, we should look for quality not quantity friends.Such quality friends are not easily found. We should treasure friendship as I believe they are like windows in our lives.Friends that have negative effect, we should keep an arm 's length from them.

Form 6 School Life in IBM @ friendship forever

Last year, after my SPM exam, I never thought that I would go to study Form 6 as everyone especially our senior said that Form 6 was the hardest study life for us and STPM was one of the tough exam in the world.I tried to apply all college in Malaysia, universities, matriculasi, teacher training and JPA also.I went to interview for JPA, colleges and teacher training, but still could not have the chance to study U and teacher training. So, finally I chose to study Form 6 as wanted to save money as college fees and other fees were too expensive.I also did not want to waste my time waiting those government results.Actually, I had the mind to study government school in Sungai Petani as my aunt 's house was at there. But, at that time, my father heard that his friends said IBM ( IMPIAN BUKIT MERTAJAM ) was the only one private school which given STPM government examination and all the teachers there were professional and full of experiences in teaching Form 6 students. Most of the students who studied at there before would get flying color in their STPM results. So I think this school was not bad actually and may be I should use this chance to get more knowledge and knew new friends at there as my father was willing to pay for the fees and fully agree with me.Although I felt not willing to leave my family and my house, but I had to keep up my luggage and went to study at IBM.But one of the advantage studied at there was my uncle and aunt were live at there. So they could help me when I had any problems. The private school would start the classes more earlier than government school. The day before the school started, I and my family went to Bukit Mertajam early in the morning.First, we went to IBM for registration and paid for the registration fees and tuition fees.I chose to study science. The subjects which I had to study were Pengajaran Am, MUET, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics T.Then, we went to the apartment which my aunt found for us to see the house and room which I would live at there during the studying. We went into the house and also the room. After we saw the whole house, I felt satisfy for my new house and room as this house looked familiar for me although I felt strange when I saw this house in first time. So, I decided to live at here as the apartment was near to the school and the security is good at here. Then, we followed landlord to her house to visit and also at the same time my father paid for the deposit and one month rent fees. After that, we went to downstairs to take all my luggage and things up to the house. Then, my father and mother went to nearby shop to buy a wardrobe and bed for me while I tried to keep up my things and arranged them in my room, living room and kitchen.I slept with another two room mate in the room.We put the bed on the floor and the wardrobe was put in front of the bed. There also got one wardrobe for us to put our school uniforms. My room mate and house mate were so nice, they all welcomed me and helped me to keep up my things. So, I could adapt myself very fast of the school life at there.I also knew many new friends at there. We study, chat, play and shopping together.I also had a good relationship with my housemates and room mates. We helped each other, play and eat together. We also together go to hike a mountain near there to find insects for laboratory project.I had a fun and sweet memory at there.I would never forget my friends, classmates, housemates and room mates.I would remember our friendship forever.

Sunset by the sea

Nature as it is, supposedly to be enjoyed and appreciated.I was told that the scene of the sunset by the sea should not be missed.Being curious, I followed my cousin and we went to the nearby beach by taxi. After we reached there, we got out by the beach. The smell of the sea was distinct and the beating sound of the wave howling, rushing onto the beach.A gentle breeze blew and I took off my sandals and stepped onto the soft fine sand.My cousin assured that I would not be disappointed. We sat on the beach and gazed at the horizon. The gray clouds could be distinctly seen but the sun was well hidden behind them.Nothing spectacular was happening and I was feeling a bit impatient but I waited.Surely enough, the white clouds began to change color.First, the red and yellow could be seen.In a short while, the sky appeared to be ablaze with a wide splash of gold, red, orange and yellow.I gazed at the magnificent sight with amazement.I tried to focus on a particular part of the sky but the colors were constantly changing. They changed very slowly but gradually, the streak of gold then turned yellow and the splash of red dissolved into hues of orange. It was really quite unbelievable how the nature in action.Shortly, the hues became darker and hints of black were visible. Then it began to disappear into the horizon. Finally, I watched the sun slowly sank into the sea. However, the sky remained reddish even though the sun was not visible. The dark shades of the sky were now very obvious.Suddenly, everything turned dark. The sun had set and night took over.I became aware when I heard the buzzing of the mosquitoes zooming around my ears.I took heels before they feast on me.We faster got into the taxi and indeed; it was a fantastic and memorable sight to witness nature at its display.

Farewell Party@The last party for me

Last year, my school organized a farewell party for us.Since it was the day of parting from my friends, school-mates and teachers, the farewell party was heart-breaking, as my educational career in the school was drawing to a close. It was the time to leave for good, my dear school, where I had spent my past six years of life.
The farewell had to take place in the house of our classmate whom his father had a bungalow which had a wide place for us to prepare for the party. That house decorated with strips of multi-coloured paper, balloons and fancy lights. The seats were arranged in a semi-circle. There were chairs for teachers and other inmates of the school. In the beginning, there was the ceremony of lighting the lamp which was inaugurated by the Principal of our school. This was followed by the students of the 7th class lighting their candles from the big lamp. Then came the students of the 6th class hosting the party in our honour. It included mouthwatering, tasty dishes and drinks. After the party, programmes of entertainment were put up for our amusement and recreation by the hosting party. There were the items of balloon- breaking with a foot, eating buns hanging down a string, musical chair, and mimicry and conferring the titles on all. Finally, we were asked to take over the charge of the stage and present our items. While our programmes were going on, dainty dishes, containing potato chips, pastry, samosas and rasgullas were served to all those who were present.
Along with these delicacies, coffee was also served. Some of the students had left the merry-making to collect autographs of their beloved teachers. The Principal and teachers delivered speeches in English and Malay. Finally, they all wished us a brilliant success, not only in the forthcoming examination but in actual life also.
Then we had a joint photograph. Side by side, we spent sometime gossiping in groups with friends. This continued till it was the time for the party to break. And by and by, all of us returned home with a sad heart and a lot of memories of our formative years in the school.

Chinese New Year Festival

Chinese New Year is one of the most exciting and happiest times of the year.During this holiday season, all Malaysian, especially those of Chinese origin, join in to visit one another and generally have a wonderful time together. For me, it is no different from others.A week before new year's day, I would have got ready all my new clothes and new shoes. My parents, brothers and sisters, friends and relatives are all busy preparing for the big day too.On the eve of the New Year, all members of the family would be gathered to have the traditional reunion dinner. My house would be filled with the chatter of voices as one by one, my brothers and sisters return home with their family. It would be one big noisy new year.My little nephews and nieces would make sure of that.To welcome in the New Year, I would wait, with those who can bear it, till after midnight at an auspicious hour to begin the ritual prayers. After the short prayers, I would light some firecrackers to signal the start of New Year.I am sure my whole neighbourhood would be wakened by the noise of the exploding firecrackers, not only from me, but also from others. In fact, every Chinese family would be letting off the firecrackers. They are supposed to scare off the evil spirits. After a light sleep, I would wake up early in the morning to greet the new day. Then, I would greet my parents and my grandmother. They would give me some 'ang-pows' as is traditionally practised. In fact, all unmarried members of the family would receive the 'angpows' from the married ones.It is certainly wonderful to receive money. One day I shall find out how it is like to give.Anyway, after a light breakfast, I would be out of the house visiting all my friends. My closest friends and I would do our rounds on our bicycles. It is a sort of tradition for us, for we have been doing this for two years now.At every house we visit, we would be offered food and drinks in unlimited amounts.I must be very careful not to stuff myself at the very first house we visit. Two years ago,I made the mistake of eating indiscriminately at the first house we visited. As a result,I could not eat anymore at the subsequent houses. What was worse,I came down with an acute case of digestion. That new year was terrible. The very sight of food and drinks made me want to throw up.It was not a pleasant experience. Now I am a wiser person.I would only eat and drink in moderation. In this way, I could enjoy all the different food and drinks in different houses and still not overeat. In the afternoon, if there is a good picture playing at one of the theatres, my friends and I would go and see it.Otherwise we would visit more friends.By evening, all of us would be tired but happy. We would have spent a wonderful day visiting friends and sharing the joy that comes only once a year. The New Year is especially wonderful because I am never short of money on that day.I cannot say the same for the other days. When I finally arrive back at home, everything would be ready for dinner. So if I had watched the amount I had eaten earlier, that is, moderately, I would still have some space leftover to take in what my mother would have slavishly prepared for us.The evening after dinner would be spent with my family. The little kids are an unending source of fun and games.I would show them the art of lightning rockets, roman candles and other fireworks.Of course, I must take care that no accident occurs.Calamity on New Year's day is certainly bad luck to everyone. When midnight approaches, it would be time then to call it a day, and what a day would have been.So it shall be when the actual day comes.I have planned and thus know exactly what to do.

A holiday trip at Pulau Desaru Beach

Last year, mid-year examination had just finished and everybody looked forward to the school holidays. My friends and I went for a three-day holiday to the Pulau Desaru Beach. The beach lies in the heart of Desaru, Johor, one of the most beautiful unspoilt beaches in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Its uninterrupted beach combines the captivating panoramic views of the South China Sea are a real gateway for relaxation. The lush tropical rainforest where visitors can have a choice of fun and adventure or just to get away from the hassle and bustle from the city.On the first day of the trip, we went swimming. The fine white soft sandy beach was very attractive. The crystal clear water was refreshing. The crystal clear waters offer amazing underwater scenes and excellent visibility. The beaches are renowned for its excellent snorkelling and world class diving sites. The coral reefs and the sponges growing on boulders are treats for the avian enthusiast. We could see our reflection of our toes wriggling in the water. After the swim, we got up for a bite at the nearby hawker stall. The food was cheap and delicious. After we ate our hearts' content, we proceeded to cycle around the park. The botanical garden, its greenery, birds of many species and colorful butterflies was indeed a breathtaking sight. On the second day, we went hiking. It was a test for our mountaineering skill.I was panting huffing and puffing. The steep was winding and my T-shirt was completely drenched. We managed to return to the resort before dinnertime. We had a poolside barbeque. The aroma of the food was indeed enough to forget the pain and ache from the hike.We took the opportunity to recharge our energy and to retire back in the hotel room after the sumptuous meal.On the last day of the trip, we decided not to tax ourselves too much.We were treated to a traditional cultural dance show. After the show, we adjourned to a nearby souvenir shop to buy some gifts for our friends and family. It was time to check out.We packed and made sure we did not leave anything behind. We were exhausted but the trip was an enjoyable one.We looked forward to the next holiday again but for the time being, back to school and have to strive for the next coming examination.
